Cheap Stuff

It’s always good to save money, but in an economy like we’re experiencing now, it’s really important. With all the uncertainty looming over the global economy, even if you have a good income you should look for ways to save on everyday expenses. Then, put those saved dollars in a safe place until our country returns to a more stable financial state.

There are many obvious ways to save, like using coupons, shopping at “club” type stores, and looking for sales. What we do at YBA is seek out the not so obvious savings and regularly update our website for our members. One of the problems with shopping on the internet is that you wind up competing with millions of other shoppers trying to get the same items. Our member’s only information provides you with a little edge in that process so that you get a head start on the better items. When it’s truly a limited opportunity, we’ll send an alert to our members so that you’ll at least have a good chance of obtaining real values from time to time.

We also encourage our members to link to other good sites, like ClarkHoward.com for advice and information. Just because something is “cheap” doesn’t mean it’s a good deal. Mr. Howard (and a few others) provides excellent consumer advice and methods of buying that are good in any economy.

We also provide “approved” links to other sites that have met our rigid standards. If we find value in a site that we perceive has “traps for the unwary” we will provide warnings and at times methods of securing the value while avoiding the traps. If you ever have an issue with one of the sites we link to, we ask that you immediately notify us so that we can let all members know about a potential problem. There are obviously many sites that are only trying to capture personal information about you so that they can sell it to other predatory marketing firms. In the future, we intend to develop a list of those sites for our members so that you can avoid them.

We are also requesting that our members keep us posted about the good deals they find online or in their home shopping areas. We will post those notices in our member’s only area so that your fellow members will also benefit. Remember, YBA is a “people helping people” organization. In fact, many of our members tell us they get more excited about finding something good for the membership than they do just finding a good deal for themselves. It’s all about the power of numbers being applied for the common good.
