Benefits Package

There are thousands of benefits plans on the market. Many of them are exactly the same that are offered by different organizations to their customers under a different name. Some plans are purchased yearly with a single premium payment of anything up to $299 while others offer the benefits on a monthly payment as high as $29.99 per month. Some plans are even offered as part of a network marketing concept where you are able to earn commissions for everyone else you sign up.

Most of them come in the form of a Discount Card which is not insurance coverage but rather on the spot discount of a particular service or product with selected health providers. Discount Programs do not make payments directly to the providers participating in the Program. Each Member is obligated to pay for all services or products but will receive a discount from the providers who have contracted with the Discount Medical Plan Organization to participate in the Program. There are no claim forms, no deductibles or co-pays, no age or medical restrictions. And you can use your card as often as you like.

The cost of benefit packages varies tremendously and is not necessarily commensurate with the coverage they offer. Some are clearly overpriced plans that benefit nobody other than the seller while others include a high element of commission in their pricing to pay those that recommend the plan to others.
