Letters To Credit Agencies

There are many ways in which you can communicate with credit card companies, banks and credit agencies depending upon the circumstance and your own personal preference. As a paying member you have access to effective letter templates for dealing with a range of credit issues and in a variety of styles.

LETTERS TO COLLECTION AGENCIES

If you are being harassed by a collection agency trying to collect a debt you do have rights. You can request that they provide proof that you owe the debt and that they have a legal right to collect it. They must provide you with proof of the debt within 30 days or they have to rescind any reference to the debt with the credit reporting agencies. You can insist that they restrict any communication with you by mail and they must comply with your request. As a member you will find form letters for these situations and more. Many of the letters are similar but perhaps written in a different style or make reference to a particular situation.

Credit reporting agencies rely on information provided to them by lenders and creditors and are unlikely to remove any incorrect or outdated information without your request to do so. For the most part these agencies can be difficult to deal with but you do have rights and the law on your side and it is usually up to you to remind them of those rights. If you have settled a credit or store card in the past, there's a good chance that it still shows on your credit report and may have an adverse effect on your credit score.
